How to Setup

The entire process of using AI to batch audit product classifications and generate list-style descriptions. Ensure that your product data is correctly written and verified in the Shopify backend Metafields.

To begin optimizing your store's data, you must first complete the installation and initial data synchronization. There are three main phases to getting started: Installation, Category Audit, and Description Audit.


Phase 1: Installation and Initialization

The initial setup ensures that the AI has access to your latest product information.

  1. Access the App Store: Log in to your Shopify admin, navigate to the "Apps" menu, and select "Shopify App Store".
  2. Search for the App: Enter "GEOly: Catalog Optimization" in the search bar.
  3. Install and Authorize: Click the "Install" button and confirm the necessary permissions to complete the authorization process.
  4. Sync Data: Once installed, enter the app Dashboard. Under the "Optimize your store in 3 steps" section, click the Sync Data button.
    • Note: This step fetches the latest product data from your Shopify database to ensure consistency.
  5. Wait for Completion: Monitor the progress bar until it finishes; the Dashboard will then display your current synchronization status.

Phase 2: Product Category Audit Setup

This section allows you to automatically map your products to international standard taxonomies.

  1. Enter Audit Page: Select the audit option from the left-hand menu.
  2. Select Products: Click the "Select Products" tab and choose the items you wish to optimize from the list.
  3. Submit Tasks: Click the "Audit Selected" button at the top or bottom of the page.
  4. AI Analysis: A pop-up will indicate that the jobs are queued (e.g., "5 audit jobs queued").
    • The status will change to PENDING as the AI provides suggested categories and confidence levels.
  5. Apply Optimization: Review and select the products with suggestions, then click the Accept button.
  6. Verification: Once the status changes to SYNCED, the Dashboard progress bar will reflect the completion.

Phase 3: Product Description Audit Setup

Transform your existing product description into machine-readable, structured HTML lists.

  1. Access Description Menu: Click on "Product Description Audit" in the menu.
  2. Select and Submit: Check the target products and submit the audit task.
  3. Review Results: The AI generates a structured description (including tags like Material, Dimensions, and Weight).
  4. Accept Audit: Click Accept for the products you have verified.

Verify Data in Shopify

  1. Return to your Shopify Products page.
  2. Open an optimized product and scroll to the bottom to find Product Metafields.
  3. Expand the section to confirm the AI-generated structure has been successfully written.

Tip: Standardized classification significantly improves ad matching rates for channels like Google Shopping and Facebook.
