Geoly Integration with Cloudflare
I. Integration Background & Value
By integrating with Cloudflare, Geoly enables brand owners to conduct in-depth analysis of server-side AI crawler traffic. Unlike Google Analytics (GA4), which focuses on "human users clicking AI links to visit a site," Cloudflare specifically addresses:
- Which AI bots are crawling my site? (e.g., GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot)
- What specific content are they crawling? (Top crawled pages)
- What are the crawling frequencies and trends?
- Which crawlers are being intercepted by security rules?
II. Connection Steps
To complete the connection, you will need:
- Zone ID
- API Token
1️⃣ Get Zone ID
- Log in to the Cloudflare Dashboard.
- Navigate to Websites and select your target domain.

- Scroll down to the API section on the right side of the Overview page.

- Copy the Zone ID.
2️⃣ Create API Token
It is recommended to create a token with minimum required permissions:
- Click Get your API token → Go to API Tokens → Click Create Token.

- Select Create Custom Token.
- Configure as follows:
- Token Name:
Geoly AI Analytics - Permissions (Required):
- Account → Account Analytics → Read
- Zone → Zone → Read
- Zone → Analytics → Read
- Zone Resources:
- Include → Specific zone → Select your domain

- Include → Specific zone → Select your domain
- Token Name:
- Click Continue to summary.

- After creation, copy the API Token (it will only be displayed once).
3️⃣ Bind in Geoly
- Go to: Agent Analytics → Platform Settings.
- Locate Cloudflare and click Connect Cloudflare.
- Enter the:
- Zone ID
- API Token
- Submit and complete the verification.

III. Feature Overview
3.1 Core Metrics
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| AI Bot Requests | Total volume of HTTP requests from all AI crawlers |
| Traffic Share | AI bot traffic as a percentage of total traffic |
| Detected Bots | Number of active AI platforms identified |
| Blocked Events | Number of interceptions by WAF / Bot rules |
3.2 Visualized Data
- AI Traffic Trends: Daily visualization of access frequency by AI platform (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.).

- Top Crawled Pages: Ranking of URLs accessed most frequently by bots.
- Crawler Distribution: Geographical distribution (typically concentrated in data centers).

- Blocked Event Logs: Details including bot name, crawl path, action taken (Block/Challenge), and timestamp.
IV. FAQ
Q1: Why is there no data after connecting?
- Data Latency: It usually takes 1–2 hours for data to sync.
- No Bot Activity: No AI crawlers have visited your site yet.
- Insufficient Permissions: Ensure the token includes
Analytics Readpermissions.
Q2: Which crawlers are currently supported? Currently supported bots include: GPTBot (ChatGPT), ClaudeBot, Google-Extended (Gemini), Perplexity, Grok, Cohere, Bytespider (ByteDance), and more.
Q3: Will this affect website performance? No.
- Data is retrieved solely via Cloudflare's backend API.
- No frontend scripts are injected.
- It does not impact user traffic or page loading speeds.
